Smart says;
Another important turning point, aesthetically and compositionally at least. The image of the mask had already started to appear in my work but this time it became the focal point. I had started to think about online exhibitionism and voyeurism, what we show off and what we hide. All of this was borne of my experiences on hook up apps and the anonymity of it all. The creative process seemed to be changing and expanding as I went deeper inside myself.
